How to calculate
Estimate the theoretical spot-metal value of platinum by weight, purity, currency, and a live cached or custom market price.
The selected grade supplies one purity factor. Pure metal weight = entered weight × that grade factor. Estimated value = pure metal weight in troy ounces × selected market price per troy ounce. Purity is never applied a second time.

Is a troy ounce the same as a regular ounce?
No. A troy ounce is 31.1034768 grams; a regular avoirdupois ounce is 28.349523125 grams.
