How to calculate

Convert PSI, bar and kilopascals without changing the physical pressure.

kPa = PSI × 6.894757293168361; 1 bar = 100 kPa.

Worked example

Pressure: 32; Input unit: 6.894757293168361.

Pressure: 32 PSI; Pressure: 2.21 bar; Pressure: 220.63 kPa.

Assumptions and limits

Convert PSI, bar and kilopascals without changing the physical pressure. Gauge readings stay gauge readings; this does not convert gauge to absolute pressure or recommend a tire inflation pressure. Follow the vehicle placard.

Results are rounded for display; calculations use unrounded values. Read our calculation methodology.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting PSI to bar change gauge pressure into absolute pressure?

No. Unit conversion preserves the pressure reference. A gauge reading remains gauge pressure; adding atmospheric pressure to obtain absolute pressure is a separate step.
